How to make a template?

Artifacts

After ToA release, any  template start from the artifacts you want, there are several things that you should keep in mind before you chose wich ones to use.

The best artifacts for you are in the following order:

Ability 1 and 2

This is the key for you to chose the artifact, since there are many you should check if it matches the character class and your way to play the game.

Not craftable bonuses

It's important to get the max ammount possible because the craftable parts (armor and weapons) will be unable to be spellcrafted with these ones::Casting Speed,Casting Range,Casting Damage,Archery Range,Archery Damage,Melee Style Damage,Melee Damage,Melee Speed,Healing Effectiveness,Stat Enhancement Effectiveness,Strengthy Cap,Quickness Cap,Acuity Cap,Dexterity Cap,Constitution Cap,Power Cap,Bonus AF,AF Cap,Hits Cap,Power Pool,Fatigue,Cast Duration.

Utility value

The higher it is, better is the artifact.

Slot position

Usually the utility value of artifacts are not that high so in theory the best artifact is the artifact that dont go to your craftable slots  (armor and weapons) because it will be more difficult to spellcraft your craftable items later.

To have a timer based ability on NECK slot is not a good deal.

Respect caps

Of course check if two or more artifacts dont overcap any of your possible bonuses or not craftable bonuses.

How many artifacts should I prevent to use in a template?

Max you can manage having a decent respect of your stats, resists, skill caps ecc... However, in my opinion  the number will vary from 3 to 6 depending on several factors, I suggest you start to build a template using not more then 3 artifacts, check if you can cap everything if yes then add 1 more and so on.

Accessories Items

Again after ToA release some items from drops/quests, give no craftable bonuses so you dont have to keep an eye only on utility value.

The best accessories for you are in the following order:

Not craftable bonuses

It's important to get max ammount possible because the craftable parts (armor and weapons) will be unable to be spellcrafted with these ones::Casting Speed,Casting Range,Casting Damage,Archery Range,Archery Damage,Melee Style Damage,Melee Damage,Melee Speed,Healing Effectiveness,Strengthy Cap,Quickness Cap,Acuity Cap,Dexterity Cap,Constitution Cap,Power Cap,Bonus AF,AF Cap,Hits Cap,Power Pool,Fatigue,Cast Duration.    forget the Stat Enhancement Effectiveness.

Utility value

The higher it is, better is the item.

Respect caps

Of course check if two or more artifacts dont overcap any of your possible bonuses or not craftable bonuses.

Con, Qua, Dur, Bon

If you start to use your template with all brand new stuff it is not a problem because the weapons and the armor for sure will go under a 100% condition (with 0% duration) before the item stop give you full bonuses, it will happen when the item reach 70% (with 0% duration). If you're thinking to apply for the template an used item then check this stuff.

Magical properties

Some items have also magical properties but usually they are crap and need to be recharged ecc... it should be the last of your problems in my point of view, unless it is really strategic for your character/way of play.

How many items should I chose before starting the "Best Fit" automatic match?

To avoid waiting to much time for the correlation proccess let max 5 (better if 4) accessories slots free including artifacts if they are present in that slots.

Craftable drop slots

Some craftable drop slot presents no craftable procs/reactive since Shrouded Isles release, wich is nice if they match your bonuses caps.

The best craftable drop slot items for you are in the following order:

Quality, AF and Dps

Be sure the quality is 100%, the AF is 102/51 or the Dps are 16.5

Proc / Reactive

There are a lot of random drops that matches the previous condition but have no proc/reactive. avoid to use that in the template.

Not craftable bonuses

It's important to get max ammount possible, because the craftable parts (armor and weapons) will be unable to be spellcrafted with these ones::Casting Speed,Casting Range,Casting Damage,Archery Range,Archery Damage,Melee Style Damage,Melee Damage,Melee Speed,Healing Effectiveness,Strengthy Cap,Quickness Cap,Acuity Cap,Dexterity Cap,Constitution Cap,Power Cap,Bonus AF,AF Cap,Hits Cap,Power Pool,Fatigue,Cast Duration.    forget the Stat Enhancement Effectiveness

Utility value

The higher it is, better is the item.

Respect caps

Of course check if two or more artifacts dont overcap any of your possible bonuses or not craftable bonuses.

Slot position

If you chose to use one item for the reactive then respect this order of preference: TORSO, LEGS, HELM, ARMS, FEET, HANDS.

Con, Qua, Dur, Bon

Just dont plan to include used stuff if you dont have a possible replacement for that kind of items.

How many items should I chose to this kind of slots?

Unless they give you a good ammount of non craftable bonuses and unless they have a really nice proc/reactive and unless they have a huge utility value and unless they dont overcap your bonuses... less you use the merrier.

Let the software calculate the rest

At this point you need to find about 4 accessorie items and spellcraft about 5 craftable items, this can be done automaticly.

Short step by step sequence:

Data base items

If is the first time you use the program the item database should have around 2000 items only, you can exchange data bases with other players that have more items inside, create the ones of your interest manually or use the load from chat.log option, drag you own items and ask ppl in your guild / group to drag their items in the interface so you can log.

Create your template

Before you Insert your character informations dont forget to remove buffs and all items.

     remember to setup this:

Wear the stuff you chose previously

Artifacts

Accessories Items

Craftable drop slots

Then save your template

Fill the empty non craftable slots

Launch the best fit function and just wait for it finish

   then navigate between results using:

Spellcraft the empty craftable slots

Launch the auto spellcraft function and just wait for it finish

report your info for the sc job using:

If  the distance to bonuses cap is crap... try to change or use less artifacts / items with low utility level before starting again.
